Netflix Reportedly Lost Millions In As Ever Deal With Meghan Markle

Netflix has completely pulled out from Meghan Markle’s lifestyle brand, As Ever, after staking millions to help launch the business back in 2025.

At first, the departure was dressed up as a mutual decision, but new reports say that it’s anything but. What will Netflix do with the thousands of unsold As Ever products sitting unwanted in their warehouse?

Will As Ever Survive As A Completely Independent Brand Run By Meghan Markle?

Ever since the Sussexes left the Royal Family to forage their way in the world as private citizens, they’ve pretty much enjoyed a close relationship with Netflix. In fact, it was Netflix’s rumored $100 million deal that helped stabilize the couple and pave the way for the purchase of their $14 million mansion.

But now, we’re hearing that Netflix wants to completely step out of the picture even after seriously downsizing their original deal to a first-looks deal. But that’s not even the crux of the matter.

You see, when Meghan was launching her lifestyle brand As Ever, she was able to bring Netflix on as creative partners. But now, after reports of piling As Ever stocks, Netflix has decided to exit the picture.

This has led to questions as to whether As Ever can survive on its own as a completely independent brand. However, the question that seems to stand out the most when it comes to Netflix’s As Ever exit remains; what soured the deal?

Meghan, of course, would like it if we believed that Netflix’s sudden exit was planned from day one and that it’s actually beneficial for her company that way. But reports have been expressing doubts over the profitability of her business, since it was leaked in December 2025 that thousands of As Ever products remain in stock.

Speaking of As Ever products, the jams have been criticized for being watery and runny, the candles made headlines for arriving to a customer without a wick, and several of the brand’s products have been described as having low quality. Amid the uphill battle to stabilize the brand by building customer loyalty, Netflix has chosen to completely extricate themselves from the situation.

Per the Variety report, Netflix was “sitting on a surplus of As Ever products, including tea and baking mixes, totaling more than $10 million in value.”

They’ve also got thousands of As Ever products that they’re giving away to staff for free.
