Sharon Newman Dealt With Mariah Copeland’s Plight
Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) finally realized a positive outcome when Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) agreed to the plea deal Christine Romalotti (Lauralee Bell) had been urging her to accept.
Mariah’s long and winding road stretches back to the mid-point of last year when she took an ill-fated business trip for Cassidy First, the company named in honor of her deceased twin sister, Cassie Newman (Grimes’ initial role on Y&R).
Viewers have learned through memory flashbacks that Mariah was drawn to an older man during that trip because he reminded her of Ian Ward (Ray Wise) and believed she may have killed him.
As it turned out, Mariah smothered the man but didn’t end his life. But that event led to her spin-out, alienation from Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks), and the kidnapping of Dominic Winters (Ethan Ray Clark).
The above created a distraction for Sharon, who normally would have been able to identify Nick’s descent.
Adam Newman Becomes Spider Again
The story Adam pitched to Riza Thompson (Tina Casciani) is connected to the truth. He told her that the loss of Newman Enterprises put him back in the game.
Riza tested Adam, making him perform at a card game that wasn’t his specialty. Successful at the blackjack table, Adam earned an invitation to what Riza says will be a high-stakes poker game.
Fans are wondering if Riza’s assumed link to Matt also means that she’s purposely drawn Adam away. The high-roller’s game could prove to be a setup, leaving Nick alone and fully vulnerable because of his voluntary illegal drug use.
Matt Clark Playing Winner-Takes-All Game
Matt could have been killed when he was in Genoa City, Wisconsin. But he wasn’t.
However, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) used the artificial intelligence tool that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) stole from Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) to seize Matt’s Shadow Room club and take most of his known assets.
As viewers have learned, Matt left GC after a judge released him and has quickly rebounded. Setting up shop in Las Vegas, Nevada, was a means to draw Nick away from his home turf.
The seeming outcome of this storyline probably produces Matt’s demise. But getting from here to there is proving to be very compelling.
