The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) just gave away another piece of the mega corporation she stole. This further proves that her staying power at what was formerly known as Newman Enterprises is unlikely.
She’s rebranded the company, using her daughter’s first name in the title. Calling it Summers Conglomerate is as it sounds, amateurish and goofy. But this is Phyllis.
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is way off his game, having allowed the likes of Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) and then Phyllis to take his life’s work. But he shrewdly gotten Chancellor back, faking out Stafford’s character.
Jack Abbott Was Rescued, Not Freed
One element in the plot that doesn’t make sense was Phyllis telling Victor that she didn’t believe Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) was in danger. She appeared to outright question whether Victor was still holding him, yet gave Chancellor to him so he would supposedly release Jack from captivity.
Phyllis is isolated in the ivory tower that Victor’s duplicity built across five-plus decades. She needs help and knows it. So, asking Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey Bregman) to join her at SC, Summers Conglomerate for all who already forgot that ridiculous moniker, at least is plausible.
It will be interesting to see if Lauren takes some form of that offer as a way to steady Phyllis. Viewers must believe that Victor is on his way to somehow reclaiming the entire corporation. But this storyline continues to play out slowly.
Cane Ashby Launched His Scheme Ages Ago
Doesn’t it seem like forever when Cane hosted all of Genoa City, Wisconsin’s finest at his chateau in the south of France?
Yes, it does because that was last summer, no pun in tended toward Phyllis’ daughter, who she renamed Victor’s company after. And last summer is a long, long time ago in the soap world.
He also behaved with minor league moves in an effort to take GC’s legacy businesses. That effort more than failed badly. It cost him Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) trust and alienated him from their twins who at least were in touch with him before all went wrong.
Victor’s base of operations is that leather chair he’s often seen sitting in at the newest Ranch house. He has no office because of Phyllis and has been working on the final touches of his next move.
It appears that Lily’s return is tied to him getting Chancellor back. The fallout with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) probably means he’s not going to reinstall her as the head of Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) one-time company.
No, Lily must have brokered a deal with the Moustache. Giving her Chancellor would make up for Victor having lied to her in the recent past, when he promised she’d head that company. Plus, the timing of Lily’s return probably is connected with his next attack on Phyllis.
