Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates indicate that Tate Black (Leo Howard) is determined to take down Sophia Choi (Rachel Boyd) for good.
However, Tate is unaware that Sophia is not only her typical level of crazy at the moment; she is also scheming to kill Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) in a ruthless manner.
Can One Fingerprint Help Tate Stop Sophia?
The question is, can one fingerprint help Tate stop Sophia from killing Johnny? Tate is eager to see Sophia in jail or back in Bayview.
Recently, he asked his dad, private eye Brady Black (Eric Martsolf), for help to gather evidence against Sophia for the pill swap. Brady instructed Tate on how to prepare a soda bottle to collect Sophia’s fingerprints without anyone else’s.
This way, they can compare them to the prints on Holly Jonas’ (Ashley Puzemis) supplement bottle. Tate managed to get Sophia’s prints, but Brady said they haven’t received the results yet.
The Salem PD Seems To Be Stuck In The Past
It’s wild because they have technology to scan fingerprints at crime scenes for quick identification, but in Salem, they still use outdated tech. Tate hopes Sophia won’t escape justice for poisoning Holly and that she’ll end up in Statesville next time since she’s a criminal.
She has targeted Holly since high school. The situation is complicated because Tate was secretly dating Holly while pretending to like Sophia and even asked her to prom.
Tate and Holly used Sophia and Aaron Greene (Louis Tomeo) to sneak around behind their parents’ backs, hurting both of them.
Sophia Is No Less Shady, Regardless
So, with all that said, nothing Holly and Tate did makes what Sophia did any less shady. From the fake baby bump to the fake adoption documents and sending those inappropriate photos of Holly to Johnny, just to mention a few of her wrongdoings.
Holly wasn’t even safe from Sophia while she was in Bayview-that’s when Holly’s unstable former best friend got a hold of the supplement bottle and switched the vitamins with her psychiatric medication.
This trick by Sophia caused Holly to completely lose it-then she planned to continue her scheme by sending another bottle of swapped supplements to keep Holly falling apart. In the end, Sophia could have inflicted serious long-term harm on Holly with this terrible act.
Sophia Doesn’t Care About Who She Hurts Or How She Hurts Them
But as always, Sophia doesn’t care about the harm she causes to others; naturally, Tate is furious because Holly was drugged.
Then, Tate himself ended up being drugged too-even worse, his younger sister Rachel Black (Lorelie Olivia Mote) was sent back to Bayview. This happened because she was the first suspect in the supplement switch-so, it’s understandable that Tate has lost his patience with Sophia.
This week, Tate confronted Sophia in the square, warning her to stay away from Holly or else. And Sophia, of course, played the victim, claiming to Tate that Holly was spreading lies about her at Salem University; if anything, she might actually be revealing the truth, right?
Sophia Claimed Holly Wants Her Dead
Sophia claimed that Holly wanted her dead-Tate was skeptical and doesn’t trust anything Sophia says; he made it clear that regardless of what Holly said or didn’t say, Sophia should leave her alone.
However, Sophia doesn’t seem scared. Meanwhile, Tate is unaware that his sister Rachel’s mom, the wicked Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk), has instructed Sophia to kill Johnny.
This is all about Kristen seeking revenge on EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) because she blames him for Rachel being sent to Bayview. Kristen holds EJ fully responsible for his own shooting since he kidnapped her mom, Rachel Blake (Ros Gentle).
Kristen Could Have Hidden Her Mom
Yet, Kristen could have hidden her mom instead of allowing her to stay in Salem to testify against EJ; we might see Brady getting the results of Sophia’s fingerprint scan soon.
In the meantime, Tate could be watching Sophia closely; oneI can picture Tate quietly following Sophia in his free time to ensure she keeps her distance from Holly.
He might do this until they gather enough evidence to put Sophia behind bars. However, time is running out for Johnny because Kristen wants Sophia to quickly and quietly handle a job without any mess.
This week, Kristen contacted Sophia after she made a shady deal with Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) to help take down EJ.
Kristen Is Making Devious Deals All Over Town
It seems Kristen is making deals all over Salem with everyone; she is determined to ensure EJ is taken down and will not stop.
In Kristen’s twisted perspective, this is why Johnny must die-with Rachel at Bayview, she believes EJ’s son must be eliminated. Kristen is collaborating with Xander to help destroy EJ, but he is more focused on taking down DiMera than on EJ himself, which Kristen might not even care about anymore.
Additionally, she proposed a deal to Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) to assist him in taking down EJ, not realizing that Rafe is already conducting a deep investigation into her brother.
Kristen Moved Up The Timeline On Taking Out Johnny
After plotting with Xander, Kristen called Sophia and instructed her to deal with Johnny the next day since Chanel Dupree DiMera (Raven Bowens) is busy all day.
Sophia expressed that she wasn’t ready, but Kristen ignored her concerns. She insisted that Sophia carry out the kill shot without any emotion, stating, “Do it clean and fast.” Kristen is overrating the college killer she hired; let’s be honest, while Sophia has a history of shady actions, mostly involving lying and fraud, she has never actually attempted to murder anyone.
It’s possible that her own fear of killing Johnny could sabotage Kristen’s murder plan.
Tate Might Intervene And Stop The Hit
Alternatively, Tate might step in and stop the hit; for instance, if the fingerprint evidence comes through, they could arrest Sophia, which would definitely halt the murder attempt.
Or perhaps Tate is watching Sophia and notices her acting suspiciously around Johnny, prompting him to intervene. Tate might stop Sophia from killing Johnny purely by chance if he keeps an eye on her for any odd behavior.
However, since Sophia is genuinely frightened of Kristen and worried about retaliation because Rachel was sent back to Bayview due to Sophia’s actions. Ultimately, Carson Boatman isn’t expected to leave Days of Our Lives until later this year.
