The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) realized what he’d hoped. His selfless expectation may also help him to eventually reconcile with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil).
While members of Lily’s blood-relative family feel otherwise, she trusted Cane’s intentions. He wanted to help Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore) if he could. The donor match test results should allow Lily’s biological father to have his aplastic anemia diagnosis addressed and solved.
Lily was naturally distraught when believing that Malcolm might have to wait on the national donor registry for a match. That happening in enough time for Malcolm to have his blood disorder treated wasn’t seen as likely, which makes Cane’s status thrilling.
Why Is Devon Hamilton Such A Contrarian?
Kudos to Bryton James (Devon Winters) for projecting a nuanced side of his character. As viewers have seen, his distrust of Cane is rooted in all that Flynn’s character has done recently and to Lily and the twins through the years.
However, Devon is a likable character who has been part of the show since before adulthood. So, viewers are naturally attached to him. That makes James’ performances so impressive.
Devon has a right to be protective of his sister because Cane lied about his alternate identity for six years before revealing himself as Aristotle Dumas. Yet, predicting that Cane will taken advantage of being Malcolm’s donor match puts Devon in a negative light.
Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) and Devon are having marital problems, which adds to his cynical state. So, it will be interesting to see what develops on that front in the coming months and whether his view of Cane thaws.
Cane Ashby Is Making Amends
Cane made a series of misguided decisions since leaving Genoa City, Wisconsin, in 2019. He went in search of his father, Colin Atkinson (Tristan Rogers), whom he located.
Colin’s intentions were good-hearted, despite the ill-gotten gains he used to fund what became Arabesque. Cane was influenced by his father’s desire to help him reclaim his family with Lily.
Now, with last summer’s deadly debacle in the south of France fading, Cane has shifted his goals. He wants to live like a good man. Lily recognizes that, as she did months ago, and that should lead to her being open to giving him another chance.
Meanwhile, In Las Vegas, Nevada
Someone who is definitely not seeking redemption is Matt Clark (Roger Howarth). His loathing of all things Newman leads him to try to incinerate those who trailed him to Las Vegas, Nevada.
Fallout will hit once Matt’s reign of horror ends, likely with him being the one to be erased from the script. Part of the aftereffect will involve Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) having to come to terms with Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) connection with Riza Thompson (Tina Casciani).
The fans know that Adam wasn’t involved with Riza during this trip but was merely using her to lure Matt into the open. But Adam’s link to Casciani’s character, during the period when he called himself Spider, will be re-explored. I could cause Chelsea to have lingering doubts about his restored commitment to her.
