The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) can’t get past what she witnessed. She’s apparently a visual learner who ties emotions to what’s seen and locks those feelings in her heart. Such is the soap world and the real one where viewers live.
Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) is not giving up. He was as shocked as his mother and uncle when seeing Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) in an orchestrated and compromising position on the yacht that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) paid for.
Diane hears Kyle’s message and understands it. However, she doesn’t believe that feeling betrayed supports what Victor and Patty want her to believe.
Patty Williams Slipped A Mickie In That Drink
Jack is adamant. He was drugged by Patty, and that’s why his inhibitions were gone.
Kyle and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) were as shocked as Diane when they boarded and found Jack with his ex-wife, Patty. They couldn’t believe that he was cavorting with her in front of their six eyes.
But two things can be true at once, as the withered cliché goes. Patty did drug Jack and Kyle, and Billy has chosen to believe that chemical manipulation caused him to be unable to control his behavior.
That remains Jack’s defense. But Diane has concluded that even if under the influence of whatever, he knowingly chose to be with Patty. That’s exactly what Victor hoped when he used Patty to target Jack as payback for Haiduk’s actions in past storylines and because he’s jealous of the bond Bergman’s character has with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott).
Is Jack Abbott’s Pairing With Nikki Newman Wise?
Jack is separated from Diane. So, having time to think, he’s decided to fight back using any means necessary.
His approach is comparable to the Moustache’s ends-justify-the-means strategy that Victor has routinely used. But Diane isn’t angry because of Jack’s reaction to Victor’s latest stunt. She’s upset because he appears to have willingly broken their marriage vows.
So, viewers can project how Diane will respond when she inevitably learns that Jack wants Nikki’s help to strike back at Victor. She could react as Victor did when Jack purposely bought illegal substances and took them as a means of shocking Nikki out of her alcohol bender.
Diane Jenkins Can Shift Momentum
Victor hasn’t gotten his company back. But he’s pleased that those he loathes are miserable.
Bringing people down is about all Victor can do until he almost certainly retakes the reins of Newman Enterprises. Jabot seems to be okay. But he may weaponize Chancellor to force what was his legacy business out of Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) hands and then use a restored Newman to wipe Jabot out.
The diabolical nature of Victor’s ploy created damage, and the victims are reeling. But Diane needs to be united with Jack before the above plays out. Her stance is fully understandable. Here’s hoping she sees the daytime light and makes that happen sooner rather than later.
