The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will do whatever it takes to make sure Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) stays out of prison. As far as Lily’s concerned, Cane has been punished more than enough for his mistakes.
It’s Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) who deserves to pay for what she’s done according to Lily. Although Phyllis keeps pointing out that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) fabricated the evidence, it’s true that Phyllis and Cane conspired to steal the Newman empire.
However, Cane was ready to sign everything back over to Victor and do the right thing until Phyllis chloroformed him. If Phyllis hadn’t derailed Cane’s plan, he wouldn’t be facing charges right now.
Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) already warned Phyllis about the potential for Cane to strike a deal and testify against her. That could indeed be a deal Christine Blair Romalotti (Lauralee Bell) is willing to make.
In fact, Cane might go a step further and try to give Christine even more proof that Phyllis is the truly guilty party here.
Phyllis previously suggested to Michael that maybe they could score an audio recording of Victor confessing that the emails were fabricated. Michael shut down that idea, but what if Y&R was offering a little hint about what’s ahead?
Perhaps Cane will find out about that plan and decide it’s one he can use against Phyllis instead. Cane might secretly record Phyllis and get her to admit she transferred everything over to herself after chloroforming him.
Phyllis could potentially gloat about outsmarting Cane and insist she’s going to keep outsmarting everyone. Cane could walk away with an incriminating recording that might help Christine sink Phyllis in the end.
Lily might even be the one to come up with this plan since she’s so determined to lock in Cane’s freedom. One way or another, Lily intends to make sure Phyllis goes down without dragging Cane down with her.
