You know how big artists are putting on their own residencies these days, when, just a few years back, the simple act of doing so would have gotten one labeled a flop artist?
Well, the same thing could be said for the boom of big stars requesting to star in Soap Operas: from Ryan Gosling recently expressing his interest to John Oliver joining ‘Days of Our Lives’ for a three-episode stint, starting Tuesday Aug. 11.
However, Deidre Hall seemingly won’t be satisfied if she doesn’t add this big name to the roster.
Deidre Hall Reveals Julia Roberts Is A “Big Fan” of ‘Days of Our Lives’
If Deidre Hall could have one more A-lister join ‘Days of Our Lives,’ it would be none other than the incomparable Julia Roberts.
Speaking to PauseRewind’s Elizabeth Stanton during NBC’s Summer Backlot Experience, Hall seriously extended the star an invite.
“You know, Julia Roberts is a very big fan, and I think she must have some downtime somewhere. So, Julia, come on by, babe,” she said, before going on to reveal that she has “met her in person several times at award shows” and quickly realized from there that she’s a fan.
“She was just sort of you can tell just sort of gobstruck. She’s so cute,” Hall gushed.
As we wait for Roberts to either accept or reject the open invitation, there’s yet one more person Hall is waiting on. And that is Ryan Gosling, who, though expressed an interest, “has yet to come.”
Deidre Hall Reveals What It Was Like Filming With John Oliver
Whilst we’re waiting on big ‘Days of Our Lives’ fans Ryan Gosling and Julia Roberts, there’s another fan who has already become a part of that world.
According to Hall, working with Oliver on the show was an amazing experience. “I was there for John Oliver. He is so adorable and easy to work with,” Hall said. “[He’s] thrilled to be there, part of the gang. There was no hesitation, just a dream to have him there because we appreciate his comedy and his history.”
In June, Hall celebrated her 50th anniversary with the show. Impressive feat don’t you think?
