Melissa Nicole Dylan (Sydney Bullock) has a middle name, as her mother, Darcy Dylan (Kelly Sullivan), informed the audience.
Melissa, or Dylan as she’s gone by in Los Angeles, California, is the woman who appeared to help Will and Electra Forrester (Laneya Grace) when she accidentally hit and killed Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada).
But the specter of Luna hasn’t haunted Will. Instead, his life’s become a wrecked car, or motorcycle, with the foreshadowing intended, because Electra dumped him. Dylan seems to have succeeded in becoming her replacement.
Now, Katie Logan Spencer (Heather Tom) is determined to help her son see the daytime light.
One More Time With Luna Nozawa
Luna has to be repeatedly mentioned in Will’s backstory because her obsession with him helped to reinforce his devotion to Electra. At the time, Grace’s character was also committed to him.
Yamada rightly earned the 2025 Daytime Emmy Award in the emerging talent category.
Her work as Luna was nothing short of sensational, with devoted fans recalling that Yamada’s character was disguised as a good soul before it was revealed that she killed two people.
Will became Luna’s target and eventually the father of her expectant child.
The scheme she engineered had him unknowingly drink high-octane alcohol and believe he was spending time with Electra when, in fact, it was Luna.
So, Dylan’s re-emergence in the show, after she premiered as a side character, was stunning.
Bullock’s persona ended Luna’s life in circumstances that she admitted to and weren’t questioned by the authorities, which opened a glide path to Will.
Electra Forrester’s Friend Becomes An Enemy
Electra has been honest. She’s told Will on multiple occasions that she loves him and that feeling hasn’t changed.
But she decided that Will couldn’t be trusted. His instability was a projection of immaturity.
However, Will pleaded his case, earned a reprieve, and all seemed to be swell until all went sour.
Electra believed Dylan was her friend, having first met her when she picked up Hayes Finnegan (Bryan David Garlick) at last year’s summer art class.
Viewers swallowed the offered connection, winking at the writing staff which created the plausible start of Electra’s friendship with Dylan.
So, Grace’s character picked up Hayes rather than one of the Finnegans ‘ nannies. Well, okay.
Katie Logan Spencer Doesn’t Like This Change
Katie is being protective, as Will’s father told him. Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) wants his son to move on from Electra and isn’t being a Father of the Year candidate by encouraging Will to play the field.
However, Bill turned serious when Will relayed Dylan’s mention of having followed the Spencer family through its Eye on Fashion magazine while she was growing up in the Midwest.
That’s the one question Will has about the new woman in his life.
Dylan was surprised by Katie’s request to meet her mother. Again, the audience winked at the writing staff, with the write-in of daytime veteran Kelly Sullivan intended.
Dylan’s backstory is expanding, with her trepidation about Darcy’s pending arrival being intriguing.
