The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) intends to work for Chancellor again. That option only became possible because of Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).
Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) was patient in anticipation of Victor making good on their deal.
She and her twins went along with the plan to make Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) believe that the Moustache kidnapped them and that they might never be seen again unless he turned Newman Enterprises back over to him.
Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) stole Newman Enterprises from Victor after chloroforming Cane.
But viewers recall that Lily eventually received Chancellor after Victor forced Phyllis to give back his business.
Making Cane Ashby And Offer He Couldn’t Refuse
Along with their romantic reconciliation, Lily offered Cane the opportunity to run Chancellor for her. That incensed an off-kilter Devon Winters (Bryton James), but Lily didn’t care.
Cane was the right choice because of his stand-out performance in building Arabesque, which Victor recently gave to Phyllis as a thank you for saving Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) life. Lily doesn’t care what Victor thinks of her choice, and she was pleasantly surprised by Cane’s first hire.
The late Colin Atkinson (Tristan Rogers) wanted his son to remake his life. He is likely thrilled in heaven, assuming he was able to honestly walk through the Pearly Gates. Cane heads a major conglomerate, as his father hoped.
Lily Winters Knows What She’s Doing
Lily never stopped loving Cane, but she couldn’t get past his having left Genoa City, Wisconsin, in pursuit of Colin.
Devoted viewers recall that Daniel Goddard (Cane), who was the initial and only actor to have played this role before the recast to Flynn, departed the cast in 2019.
Cane had to prove himself to Lily and their children. That happened based on all that’s transpired since the extended storyline that took place on Cane’s inherited palatial property in France.
Reuniting with Cane feels right, which is why helping him remain centered through the Chancellor offer works. Here’s hoping that he remains focused on what’s best for Lily and their family while working with Billy.
Billy Abbott Given An Unexpected Opportunity
Billy would have never guessed that Cane, of all people, would be the guy who allowed him to revisit Chancellor. He remains devastated that his mother, Jill Abbott (most recently played by Lauren Koslow), took that company away from him.
Jill didn’t believe that her son could handle the responsibility. Yet, she retains full faith in Cane, who Billy considered a snake.
Well, that perceived rival was sincere in wanting Billy to work with him at Chancellor. There’s no doubt that Lily’s guys will clash, but that will make good soap as this elevating tale rolls through the summer.
