One would assume that Carter and Steffy can’t possibly use University Hospital, where Finn and Li work, to pull off their ruse.
It would be too easy for one or both doctors to uncover the faked surrogacy scam, right?
This is a major part of Carter’s plan that he didn’t think through. Steffy hadn’t gotten to that upcoming point in the plot when she was simply thinking about how wrong it was to withhold the truth from Finn about what happened after she returned from Monaco in a drunken rage.
It wouldn’t be logical for Steffy to pay off some University Hospital employee to help facilitate the surrogacy plan. Of course, this is daytime so maybe the audience will be asked to suspend disbelief.
John Finn Finnegan’s Conferance Obligation Opened The Door
Why did Finn have to jet off to some medical conference while his wife was obviously still reeling from what he assumed happened? In his mind, Steffy sighting Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) on the beach in Monaco was still affecting her.
Viewers know that incident, while important at the time it happened, isn’t the reason why Steffy is upset now.
Being coerced by Carter to fool Finn, Daphne, and all their family and friends is a monumental commitment.
Deep down Steffy knows this will all be revealed. But because the plot is so compelling, Wood’s character was manipulated into telling Finn that she wanted to be the woman who helps Daphne and Carter have a baby.
Finn’s need to leave home might allow Steffy and Carter enough time to exact the next part of their conspiracy.
Steffy Forrester Finnegan Isn’t Perfect
Steffy has often been cited as being so strong. Yes, she is that but she’s also a human being who can only carry so much in her heart and mind.
This choice she’s making and it is that, will likely drive a permanent wedge in her marriage to Finn.
He will certain be disillusioned when learning the truth, at whatever point in the future, and feel totally betrayed.
Of course, Daphne will feel the same but from a different angle. Steffy is her best friend and learning what Steffy and Carter did and that they willfully deceived them with such an engineered lie will probably destroy both marriages.
