The Young and the Restless spoilers show that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) is once again offering to give Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) a lump sum of cash to start his own company that’s completely his, with no strings attached to Chancellor or anyone else, for that matter.
It’s a generous offer, but it’s one we’ve heard before. Almost word for word, and it’s never ended well.
Are We Going Crazy Or Is The Same Thing Happening Again?
Jack funded Billy already with Abbott Communications, and it fell apart because of Billy’s obsession with Cane.
Billy told Jack to take the money back, and of course, that’s what Jack did. Now, here we are again.
Jack is offering Billy another fresh start with a fortune to fund another company. We all know this is a soap opera and we love the genre, but aren’t we also tired of seeing the same thing over and over?
Surely there are more storylines out there aside from starting a business, hostile takeovers, and baby mama drama, right? It gets to a point where it feels like the writers are disrespecting us and our memories of what just happened.
Can Billy Even Let Chancellor Go At This Point?
Billy’s obsession with Chancellor was never about the company and running the day-to-day things.
It’s about wanting to prove to his mother that he’s just as capable as anyone else, and if he does this right, she won’t treat him like an afterthought. And Jack’s money isn’t going to fix that.
A brand new, shiny company with Billy’s name on the sign doesn’t drive him. It’s never been about the money, it’s about Billy’s own mommy issues.
Strangely enough, this comes after Billy claimed he was going to step back for a while, at least for the baby’s sake.
Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) would love for the father of her child to be around and share the experience together.
But if he gets tangled up in starting a new company, there’s no way he’s going to have any free time.
He’ll be gone every night, probably sleeping at the office and forgetting all about his family. Because in Genoa City, business trumps family every time.
