Days of Our Lives spoilers imply that Vico Escorcia, who plays Arianna “Ari” Horton, is officially off contract on the Peacock soap. Learn more about this interesting casting development by reading below.
What’s Happening With Ari Horton?
As per Jason47, a handle on Facebook who monitors cast lists and rankings of episodes, Escorcia’s name was removed from Days of Our Lives’ contract list.
The actress stepped in as the Ari Horton recast as of April 8 of this year. Escorcia took over for Marissa Reyes, who debuted in the role in May 2025.
The actress joins a slew of other Days cast members who have dropped to recurring status, including Galen Gering, who plays Ari’s onscreen uncle Rafe Hernandez, as well as Brandon Beemer, who plays Shawn
Douglas Brady – just to name a few.
While it could mean that Ari exits the canvas soon, the character may also enjoy many years ahead on the show, when storyline dictates it.
Casting Shuffle
This news comes off the cusp of some recent hires that have stirred some buzz! Actor Brandon Butler debuted during the Tuesday, September 1 episode as Mason Whitfield, while Sydney Malakeh is slated to debut on Wednesday, September 9. The show has yet to announce the character she’ll be playing.
It was also announced that General Hospital (ex-Valerie Spencer) and The Young and the Restless (ex-Elena Dawson) alum, Brytni Sarpy, will enter storylines sometime in 2027. It’s unclear what role she’ll be playing.
Of course, fellow General Hospital alum (ex-Sasha Gilmore), Sofia Mattsson, is also set to enter the Salem picture in early 2027, and her character is remaining hush-hush, too!
Before entering the soap, Escorcia was nominated for two Ariel Awards (Mexico’s equivalent to the Oscars) and received the Silver Goddess Award (Mexican Golden Globe).
This was for her work in Los Crímenes del Mar del Norte. In addition to English and Spanish, the actress is also fluent in French.
