Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates tease the tragic situation surrounding Sophia Choi’s (Rachel Boyd) alleged suicide has sparked a flurry of accusations among many. But in the end, who truly bears the responsibility for the death of this young girl?
Kristen DiMera Delivered The Fatal Blow
We are aware that Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) was the one who delivered the fatal blow to her head. However, the reality is far more complex than simply identifying the person who caused the last injury.
We will examine how the ongoing narrative regarding Sophia’s seemingly tragic suicide is a complicated matter filled with various layers of blame and manipulation that we can uncover.
Thus, placing her trust in Kristen might have been the most significant error of Sophia’s brief existence-undoubtedly a deadly one.
After she framed Rachel Black (Lorelie Olivia Mote), it became clear that Sophia feared Kristen intended to harm her, and indeed she did; but Kristen was quite cunning in her approach.
She Persuaded Sophia There Was Another Way To Move Forward
Initially, she persuaded Sophia that there was another way to move forward-Kristen acknowledged that she was upset about Sophia using her young daughter Rachel as a drug mule.
But she insisted she could overlook it because her main goal was to take revenge on her brother, EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel). Kristen also pointed out that Sophia should feel the same way, considering what EJ did during the final adoption hearing.
Moreover, Kristen believes that EJ is to blame for Rachel shooting him since he had hidden Kristen’s mother, Rachel Blake (Roslyn Gentle), also known as Rachel Senior.
EJ Wouldn’t Have Done That If Kristen Had Taken Her Mother Away From Salem
However, EJ wouldn’t have needed to do that if Kristen had been clever and taken her mother out of Salem to prevent her from being forced to testify against EJ. There’s definitely a saying about snitches getting stitches. Ultimately, he didn’t kill Rachel Senior, which he could have done.
Instead, he just hid her away so the DA couldn’t locate her to put her on the witness stand. It’s clear that the issues with the child stem from the poor example set by her mother Kristen for little Rachel.
Kristen Devised A Dark Scheme
Kristen devised a dark scheme to make Sophia kill Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman); she blames EJ for Rachel being at Bayview and thinks he should lose Johnny.
Kristen knows Sophia despised Johnny for abandoning Trey DiMera’s (Joseph Ihlenf and Jordan Perdue) adoption.
So, Sophia got to work-she wrote a suicide note blaming her ex-best friend Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) and her cyberbullying for her decision to end her life.
However, it was Kristen who instructed Sophia to write the note and leave it for her family to find-then, Kristen gave Sophia a gun with orders to eliminate Johnny.
But when Sophia headed to Johnny’s place, she strayed from Kristen’s plan to simply shoot Johnny and flee; that’s when things went wrong-by then, her fate was already decided.
Sophia Strayed From The Plan-That Was Her Deadly Mistake
When Sophia strayed from the plan to kill Johnny, she acted like a science fair nerd. She maced him, pistol-whipped him, tied him up, and then set up a death trap with a tea light candle and nail polish remover. After that, she left to fake her suicide; fortunately, someone got to Johnny just in time.
Javi Hernandez (now Jacob Martinez) came to save Johnny. Meanwhile, Sophia went to a remote bridge where Kristen was waiting to see if she had killed Johnny-at that moment, Kristen believed Sophia had succeeded and that Johnny was dead.
Sophia’s Body Still Hasn’t Been Found
Sophia thought she would get the fake ID, passport, and money Kristen promised to help her leave Salem and start fresh. Kristen told her to lean over and get her fingerprints on the railing in case the cops came.
Then she said, “Leave your stuff. Toss your shoes;” with Sophia’s back turned, Kristen hit her with a rock-after cracking Sophia’s skull, Kristen had her goons throw her off the bridge.
Technically, Kristen killed her, but the Salem PD and DA are investigating to find out who caused Sophia’s supposed suicide, which everyone believes is her fate now.
They haven’t found her body yet-once they do, it should clarify many things since Kristen smashed her skull with a rock.
